Financial Guide & Fee Transparency for J-1 Teacher Applicant

1. Placement Success Fee

The Placement Success Fee is a fixed amount based on the applicant's program track:

Premium Track

$1,990

  

One Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety U.S. Dollars ($1,990), payable in five (5) equal monthly installments of $398 each.

Independent Track

$3,490

 Three Thousand Four Hundred Ninety U.S. Dollars ($3,490), payable in five (5) equal monthly installments of $698each. 


2.GOVERNMENT AND THIRD-PARTY FEE DISCLOSURE

The applicant is responsible for the following mandatory third-party and government-related costs, which are NOT paid to CrossBorder Career Solutions, LLC, and are subject to the refund policies of the respective issuing entities.

J-1 Sponsor Fee

$2,830

Program Fee and   including Regulatory Compliant Emergency Medical Insurance and Program   Administration

J-2 Dependent or Spouse Program Fee

$500

 Program Fee and including Regulatory Compliant Emergency Medical Insurance and Program Administration 

I-901 SEVIS Fee

$220

 Mandatory federal fee to maintain the applicant’s J-1 record 

J-1 Visa Interview Fee

$185

 Fee required to schedule and attend the J-1 visa interview.

Credential Evaluation

$175 - $300

 Converts foreign credentials into U.S. academic equivalents 

Teacher Certification / License Fee

$75 – $150

 Licensing or Statement of Eligibility fees; varies by state 

Cancellation, Forfeiture and Refund Policy

  •   The Teacher may withdraw from the program at any time prior to signing a formal Job Offer without any financial penalty.

  •   If the Teacher cancels their application or withdraws from the program aftersigning a formal Job Offer/Employment Contract, the $500 security deposit shall be forfeited to Cross Border as a cancellation fee to cover recruitment, administrative, and school coordination costs.

  •  If the Teacher’s J-1 Visa is denied by the U.S. Embassy through no fault of their own, the $500 security deposit is fully refundable. To process this refund, the Teacher must provide:
  • A copy of the official visa denial letter from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate.
  • Proof of the original DS-2019 form.

  •   Approved refunds will be processed and returned to the Teacher within thirty (30) days of receiving the required denial documentation.

 No refund of the security deposit or any paid installments will be issued if:

  • The Teacher provides fraudulent or misleading documentation during the application process.
  • The Teacher fails to attend the scheduled visa interview.
  • The Teacher withdraws from the program after the J-1 Visa has already been granted.
  • The Teacher terminates their employment early after arriving in the United States.
